Concert Strings
The Concert Strings (CS) Orchestra is comprised of students with approximately 4-5 years of string instrument study. This group is designed as a transitional group to classical literature.
Entrance into this ensemble typically requires playing in or beyond Suzuki book 5, knowledge and technical proficiency of some intermediate and advancing bowing skills, consistent use of vibrato, playing in first through fifth positions with ease, and demonstrating of musicality through phrasing and dynamic contrast. Concert Strings (CS) typically plays music at the Grade 4 to 5 level, with a focus on arrangements of professional grade literature.
The orchestra meets once per week from 1:30 to 3:15PM for rehearsal. All students are required to meet with a private instructor once a week. There are typically 3 concerts a year and additional performances at select festivals and community events.
