Lucas Cantor Talk at DAAYO

December 10 @ 6:30 pm 7:30 pm

DAAYO will be hosting a special talk on Music, Art and Artificial Intelligence by two-time Emmy Award winner Lucas Cantor at our rehearsal facility on 12/10/25, 6:30PM. A multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer and author, Lucas has worked in NBC music department for the Olympic Games since 2002, and won two Emmys for the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. He co-produced Lorde’s cover of Everybody Wants To Rule The World on the Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack.

Other compositions include the opening to the 2025 and 2023 NFL Super Bowl coverage on Fox, co-writing the theme song for Major League Soccer on Fox, music for the Netflix anime Cannon Busters, and the original score for the documentary Failure To Protect (2022).

Mr. Cantor’s work with Huawei and its artificial intelligence to finish Schubert’s famous “Unfinished” Symphony piqued his interest in AI, and spurned him ask deep questions about the role of technology in the music and the arts. Creating music in collaboration with a machine led him to question his long-standing assumptions about what music is, what technology does, and how the two have evolved together over the course of human history, from the first bone flute to today’s landscape of constant innovation and change.

This culminated in his upcoming book: Unfinished: The Role of the Artist in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, which will be available for sale at this talk!
