DAAYO International Tours
As a youth orchestra with an international flair, the Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra believes that performing and touring abroad can be a powerful and engaging experience which stimulates growth on the part of the student in many ways. Observing different cultures in person can be an eye and mind opening experience. We use music as a bridge to make cultural connections and memories that last a lifetime.
Our trips are bi-annual, and are open to all DAAYO members. In addition, we open up spots on the tour to alumni as well as outside instrumentalists as available.
Japan 2020 (June 23-July 1; Kyoto/Osaka/Nara)
DAAYO is headed to Japan in the summer of 2020! We’ll be exploring the traditional Kansai region of Japan, and we’ll explore Kyoto and Osaka (both former imperial capitals of Japan!) In addition to our performance in Osaka we’ll get a chance to see world-renowned sites such as Osaka Castle, the bamboo forest of Arashiyama, Kiyomizudera Temple, and many more! We do have spots available for student instrumentalists not currently in DAAYO – so contact us for more details! More info here.
Austria 2018 (June 16-June 23; Vienna/Salzburg/Melk)
DAAYO’s first European performance tour featured performances at two of the premier venues in all of Austria: St. Peter’s Church in Vienna and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. In addition, we partipicated in the cultural sights and sounds of Austria – including the famous ring road in Vienna, the Hapsburg Bellevedere Place, the Benedictine Abbey in Melk, Salzburg old town, and many more.
